Chilliwack firefighters raced to a structure fire in the 9300 block of Woodbine Street just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
PhotoUpon arrival, crews found the property owner using a garden hose to try to extinguish a fully-involved fire in a detached garage.
Firefighters went into a defensive mode, quickly knocked the fire down and brought it under control before there was any exposure damage to the house and surrounding buildings.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
The fire appears to be accidental, said the Chilliwack Fire Dept., and is still under investigation.
By 3:50 p.m. crews on scene were able to declare the fire struck.
