One of the group of CHOICE candidates running for city councillor is withdrawing from the council race.
Jos Krynen, who runs Eagle Eye Adventures with his wife and is the president of Krynen Holdings Ltd., is being forced to drop his election campaign.
“It is with a great deal of disappointment that I must announce that I am withdrawing my name as a candidate for election to city council,” Krynen said in a release. “While I am a permanent resident of Canada, I was unable to obtain my official Canadian Citizenship in time for the November 15 municipal election.”
Krynen moved to Campbell River from the Netherlands where he worked as a successful denturist. He also has a diploma in Marine Biology and he serves on the St. John Ambulance board. Krynen extends his appreciation to everyone who has supported his bid for council.
“I would like to thank all of my supporters for their encouragement, and assure them that they can rely on my CHOICE colleagues (Bob Bray, David Christian, Jim Parnell, and Marcia McKay) to do what is right for Campbell River,” Krynen said. “I will be pursuing my formal Citizenship, continuing to champion Campbell River internationally, and keeping a close eye on local government. In the words of Arnold (Schwarzenegger) – ‘I’ll be back!’”
