This Saturday, Sept. 18, citizens of all ages and abilities are encouraged to come down to Saywell Park in Lake Cowichan to participate in the annual Terry Fox Run.

The event is suitable for people on foot, bikes, in wheelchairs or strollers. Dogs on leash are also welcome.

Participants have three routes to choose from.

The first is any distance you feel comfortable walking; simply head from Saywell to the Trans Canada Trail and then turn back when you’ve reached your personal limit.

The second is a 5 km loop from Saywell Park, along the Trans Canada Trail, then Greendale Road to the end and then doubling back and going to the park.

Option No. 3 is a 10 km loop from the park, along the trail until a designated turnaround point from which runners/walkers then go back to Saywell Park via Greendale Road.

Volunteers are still needed. Anyone interested can contact Beth Kidd at 250-749-7790.
