People are coming up with creative ways to teach their children the true meaning of Christmas.
Jason Hayden figured out a few years ago that giving a ready-to-plug-in Christmas tree to someone in need was a good way to open his daughter, Sterling’s, eyes to something that really counts.
It’s legal to cut a tree on Crown land, when you get a permit. So for years the Haydens have been collecting a tree for themselves, and another one for a needy family.
“We found this really great tree up by Big White,” Sterling told the Capital News on Monday.
He and Sterling have fully decorated the tree and it’s ready to go.
The best news is that they have had trouble finding a family that really needs it this year. So he reached out to Capital News readers.
“We’ve decorated it and we’ll deliver it too,” Jason said. “We have family in town so we’ll even sing you a Christmas carol.”
