Don’t be surprised if you hear a ringing in your ears on Friday.

The All Saints Anglican Church bell will be ringing at 11 a.m. on May 8 to recognize the 75th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day.

The Mission church bell, located at 33077 2nd Avenue, was first hung in the original All Saints Anglican Church on Washington Street in 1912 and was eventually moved to the new church location where it still remains in the tall tower.

The steel bell weighs an impressive total of almost 1,600 pounds.

In the past, the bell also served as a fire alarm for the Mission community.
