Fines for unlicensed dogs in Courtenay start at $100.

City dog licences now available

Fines for unlicensed dogs start at $100 for a first offence.

2017 dog licences are now available from Courtenay City Hall.

All dogs over the age of six months living in the city must be licensed.

The fee for a neutered male or spayed female is $5 annually. For un-neutered males or un-spayed females, the fee is $25 annually. Licences expire each year on Dec. 31 and must be renewed annually.

To get your licence, bring your payment to Courtenay City Hall, 830 Cliffe Ave., and provide your name, address and phone number, as well as your dog’s name, breed, colour, and gender. For first-time licensing, bring proof of spay/neuter status from your veterinarian.
