As the City of Quesnel prepares its 2020 budgets, it is asking for residents’ input.
The City of Quesnel is currently preparing its operating and capital budgets, as well as its five-year financial plan, and is asking residents to share their priorities for the City of Quesnel 2020 budget by completing a budget survey.
“Budgets are a balancing act,” according to a press release from the City. “The City must provide quality services and maintain aging infrastructure with limited tax dollars. Each year, the City develops a detailed budget to determine how tax dollars are to be spent and looks for input from its citizens on developing priorities.”
Paper copies of the survey are available at City Hall at 410 Kinchant St., and an online version can be found on the City’s website at quesnel.ca/budget.
The City encourages residents to read the introductory material provided in the survey so they can make informed choices.
The survey is open until Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Once the City has received the budget survey, City staff and the Financial Sustainability and Audit Committee will review the budgets before the end of the year. Draft capital and operating budgets will be presented to council in January.
