City rescinds water advisory

The City rescinded a water quality advisory issued yesterday after the chlorine system used to disinfect the city's water supply failed.

The City of Castlegar issued a water advisory on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8 a.m. after the chlorine disinfectant system in the city’s water distribution system failed.

Since the primary disinfectant UV lights were still working, the Interior Health Authority only required the City to issue a water quality advisory.

The problem was fixed, and the advisory was rescinded at 3 p.m. the same day.
