Clancys’ restaurant in Lac la Hache burns to ground

Volunteer Fire Departments from Lac la Hache, 100 Mile House, 108 Mile and Greeny Lake were called to a fire early Sunday morning that saw a landmark, which had served the community and travellers for many, many years, reduced to charred rubble.

Emergency crews were called out around 4:30 a.m.on  April 17 to a fire at Clancy's Restaurant on Highway 97.

Volunteer Fire Departments from Lac la Hache, 100 Mile House, 108 Mile and Greeny Lake were called to a fire early Sunday morning that saw a landmark, which had served the community and travellers for many, many years, reduced to charred rubble.

Emergency crews were called out around 4:30 a.m. and the building was still smoking at 9 a.m.

Meanwhile, the blaze burned through significant TELUS cable, disrupting service for some 3,300 residential customers from 93 Mile House to Williams Lake and the surrounding areas.
