Clearwater Rotary collects for Japan shelter

Thank you, Clearwater, once again, for your generous donations. More than $3000 has been raised, meaning that three more family units in Japan, dispossessed by the earthquake, tsunami, or radioactivity, will have a place to call home. We will close this account at the Credit Union on Tuesday, May 10 so the money and the ShelterBoxes can be on their way.

Rotary flea market a success

This event, held at the Rotary Sports Park, was a most successful fund-raiser for our club and for others. We were delighted to have Yuma Fujikawa, the Hokai family and Hiroomi Yamaguchi assist us in working at a separate table which collected donations for the ShelterBoxes, contributing almost $800 to the total above. Requests have been made for another to be held in the fall and to make this a yearly event. Prizes were awarded as follows: Rafting Trip for two donated by Liquid Lifestyles.  Winner Lisa Wadlegger; $50.00 gift certificate donated by Rooted By The River.  Winner: Jan Walling; MS wireless notebook optical mouse donated by Clearwater Computers.  Winner –  MacDonald Young; gift certificate for lunch donated by The Stop (Mark Wenzel).  Winner – Matt Parsons; potted plant donated by Jenkins Road Garden Centre.  Winner -Suzanne Wood; gift certificate for lunch donated by The Stop. Winner – Judy Schurack; stained glass picture donated by Hiroomii Yamaguchi (Barriere). Winner – Sandra Holmes.
