As wildfires and heat waves continue across the province, residents of the South Okanagan are getting fired up about climate change.

In response to the wildfires, the extreme heatwave and the many other urgent impacts from climate change across Canada and the world, there will be a rally held in downtown Penticton to call for positive change.

On July 29, outside Nanaimo Square in Penticton, the rally organizers will voice their demand for the federal government to place a moratorium on new fossil fuel expansion and to enact transitions away from fossil fuels.

MP Richard Cannings will also be at the rally and be speaking.

The rally begins at 10:30 a.m. outside and Nanaimo Square on Main Street in Penticton.
