Farewell Tea
Several Clinton residents gathered on Thursday, March 24 to bid farewell to Meghan Urquhart, RN, as she prepared to leave the Clinton Health and Wellness Centre to take up a more challenging position in Kamloops.
Meghan (pictured holding the cake in the accompanying photograph, which was taken by Susan Swan) has been the nurse at the centre for the past three years, and all who gathered wished her well in her future endeavours. The Clinton Health Care Auxiliary provided cake and refreshments for a “Farewell Tea” in Meghan’s honour.
Now what?
That was the question on everyone’s mind as they said farewell to Meghan. Who will take over the duties at the Clinton Health Centre, and when?
Interior Health has hired a Primary Care Nurse to fill the position, but a start date has not yet been confirmed. There may be a short period when there will not be a nurse at the Clinton site. Residents can access services at the Ashcroft site in the interim.
Spring Art Show
The Clinton Art and Cultural Society held a very well-attended Spring Art Show and Sale on Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26.
The Clinton Memorial Hall was abuzz with conversation as visitors admired the art on display. These included watercolour, acrylics, drawings in graphite pencil, felt pen, and more, oils, sculpture in clay, weathered wood and found items, metal, fabric mixed media, quilt art, and photography.
The Mill Girl Follies and Katie Kidwell also had a display of song, poetry, and dance for the enjoyment of attendees.
Easter Sunday
It was a wet, foggy Easter morning as about a hundred people enjoyed breakfast, music, and an Easter message at the Clinton Memorial Hall. The Clinton churches joined together to put on a lovely meal and enjoyable service.
