From the regular meeting of March 23.

In attendance: Mayor Roland Stanke and councillors Margaret James and Bonnie Stanke. Absent were councillors Daniella Dyck and Marian Nelson.

FortisBC

Energy Inc. had contacted the Village of Clinton to advise that the 21-year term of the operating agreement between the Village and Fortis expired on March 12, 2011. Council passed a motion that the Village enter into an Amending Agreement to extend the term of the Franchise Agreement for an additional period from March 13 to June 30, 2011.

Proposed Food Service-Clinton Budget5 Foods

The Village of Clinton received a fax from Interior Health regarding proposed food services for Budget Foods. The Village had not received any notification from Budget Foods so they will contact the owners and ensure the proposed service is in compliance with all municipal bylaws.

Earth Hour

Due to the absence of two councillors and a staff member being on holidays council decided that there will be no special event marking Earth Hour on March 26 this year but it will be planned earlier for next year.

Western Heritage Week Parade

Angie Cahill, Parade Marshall for the Clinton Annual Parade, requested that the Village Office send out invitations to the dignitaries representative of the region. Council directed staff to do the invitations.

Community Forest Association

Council will decide at the upcoming budget meeting who will attend the BCCFA 2011 Conference and AGM on June 9-11 in 100 Mile House.

Next Meeting

The next regular meeting of Council is on Wednesday, April 13 at 7 pm in Council Chambers.
