Cloverdale murder believed to be a domestic dispute

Police are looking for a stolen SUV in connection with Surrey's latest homicide late Monday night.

Mounties are looking for a stolen SUV in connection with a murder in Cloverdale this week.

On Monday, just before midnight, RCMP responded to a report of a man being shot at a home near 176 Street and 57 Avenue.

A man was found injured in the townhome and was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

The investigation is in the early stages, but police say it was not a random act and has no connection with gang or organized crime activity.

In fact, at this point, police believe the shooting may have resulted from a domestic dispute.

The occupants of the home are known to police, but investigators are just now trying to determine if that is pertinent to their investigation.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation into the homicide.

The suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old.

Police are looking for a 2010 blue Kia Borrego with the licence plate 023 WDE. Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged not to approach it, but to call 911.

IHIT is asking anyone who has information regarding this homicide to call the IHIT Tipline at 1-877-551-4448 or by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip on their website at Solvecrime.ca.
