Atlanta-based rock band Collective Soul celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of its first album, Hints, Allegations And Things Left Unsaid, with a stop at Kelowna’s Prospera Place Friday night.
The high-energy show featured many of the band’s hits from its eight studio albums sandwiched between songs from the its upcoming new album, See What You Started By Continuing, set for release this summer.
The new material led off the concert and closed the set prior to the encore, which featured one of band’s biggest hits, Shine.
Collective Soul, fronted by the hyper-energetic Ed Roland, had most of the crowd of about 4,000 on its feet for much of the evening and and on several occasions had the audience singing along.
The opening act, well-known Canadian band 54/40, did much the same during its entertaining 45-minute set. Also packed with its hits, 54/40’s set was an up-tempo offering that went over well with the enthusiastic, mainly middle-aged crowd.
