College grads take the stage this weekend in Kelowna

Okanagan College will confer 119 degrees, 261 diplomas, 66 associate degrees and 12 certificates

Three convocation ceremonies will take place at Okanagan College’s Kelowna campus this weekend.

The achievements of more than 920 students from trades and apprenticeship programs from across the College’s four campuses were recognized at the Trades Commencement ceremony on Friday evening.

Today, the first of two convocation ceremonies will commence at 10:30 a.m. Credentials will be given to students in a variety of program offerings including arts, computer science, early childhood education, engineering technologies, practical nursing, and science.

Sharon Shepherd will be named Honorary Fellow and address the graduating class.

Business program graduates will be receiving their credentials at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday. Graduates will hear from Randy Manuel, who will also be named Honorary Fellow.

Okanagan College will confer 119 degrees, 261 diplomas, 66 associate degrees and 12 certificates. Later in June, the College will host three additional ceremonies: at the Vernon campus (June 27), and two summer Convocations at the Kelowna campus (June 28 and 29).
