One person was taken to hospital after a motorcycle collided with a truck late Friday in Maple Ridge, closing Lougheed Highway for several hours.
The collision occurred just after 9 p.m. near 216th Street. The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The truck driver reportedly remained at the scene.
“Two vehicles were involved, a motorcycle and a pick-up truck. The driver, who was the lone occupant of the motorcycle, was taken to hospital by the B.C. Ambulance Service with serious injuries,” Ridge Meadows RCMP said.
The driver, and lone occupant of the truck, was not injured.
The cause of the accident has not been determined.
The highway was closed in both directions for several hours.
