100 Mile House RCMP responded to 85 calls for service during the past week. Some highlights are as follows:
Impaired driving
On April 16, RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 24 near Lone Butte. Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services located and stopped the vehicle. The male driver who was found to be unlicensed showed symptoms of alcohol consumption. A roadside breath test was conducted which resulted in a fail reading. The male was detained for impaired driving and brought to the detachment for further breath testing. Samples over .08 were obtained. The male was subsequently released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. Charges of Impaired Driving and Driving Over .08 will be proposed to Crown Counsel.
Library theft
On April 15, RCMP received a report of a theft that had occurred at the 100 Mile House Library. At 2:11 p.m. it was reported that a laptop was taken after the owner had stepped away from it for a few minutes. The laptop is a Levona Think Pad.
Serial collisions
On April 15, RCMP were called to a series of motor vehicle collisions on Highway 97. The first collision occurred near Dawson Rd where a vehicle hit ice, crossed the roadway and went into the ditch. The single occupant of the vehicle sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening and was taken to 100 Mile House Hospital. RCMP were then called to a vehicle rollover on Highway 97 near Bjornson Rd. A vehicle hit ice and lost control which led to a rollover in the ditch. The driver of the vehicle was taken to 100 Mile House Hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. RCMP then came across another vehicle collision on Highway 97 near Kitwanga Rd. It was determined that the vehicle lost control on icy roads before hitting the ditch and rolling several times. The driver of this vehicle sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening and was taken to 100 Mile House Hospital. Two additional minor collisions were also reported to RCMP during this time. Weather and extremely icy road conditions were a factor in each of the incidents due to a snowfall that had occurred in these areas overnight.
Break and enter
On April 14, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a shed on a residential property on Redpath Rd in Forest Grove. Between Feb. 1 and April 13 a lifetime collection of tools were stolen. They were a variety of several different tools, ranging from screwdrivers up to a complete Heavy Duty mechanic’s essential tools. Some of the tools had engravings in them to identify the owner.
Break and enter
On April 11, RCMP were called to a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 5000 block of Gold Rd in 103 Mile House. Sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 9:15 p.m. the residence was entered and an Xbox, Wii, and a lock box containing cash were taken.

On April 10, at 11:13 p.m., RCMP were called to a report of a break and enter to a building located on the 400 block of Cedar Ave. A window had been broken and the building was entered. RCMP attended and searched the building, however, no one was located inside. Nothing appeared to have been taken.
Break and enter
On April 10, RCMP were called to a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 5700 block of Canim Hendrix Lake Rd. Sometime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. the residence had been entered and money and a tablet were taken.
