Community members filled the Mary Irwin Theatre on Wednesday night to recognize the 2017 Community Sport Hero Awards Recipients.

At this year’s reception, the City of Kelowna, PacificSport, and Tourism Kelowna recognized several local volunteers and athletes for their outstanding contributions to sport within our community.

Along with the recognition of these local sport heroes, the 2017 Community Sport Hero Awards Reception also took time to acknowledge and congratulate Okanagan athletes that competed at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio.

The night was headlined by keynote speaker Brittney Page and was capped off by a “send-off” for Kelowna athletes heading to the upcoming International Children’s Games.
