Kensington Renneberg.

Kensington Renneberg combines her love of sport with her desire to help others, especially young boys and girls, and provide them with a positive role model they can relate to.

While still in high school herself, this Grade 12 student is a tireless volunteer when it comes to coaching six- to eight-year-olds play the game she loves—baseball.

An accomplished ball player, whose talent has propelled her  to represent Canada on the national women’s under-21 baseball team desoite the fact she is still in high school, Kensington gives countless hours to coach youngsters, having a positive impact on their lives both on and off the field.

She says what makes it so worthwhile for her is to see the fun the children have, their smiling faces and knowing she can help.

She says when she was younger, she would have loved to have had a person so passionate about her sport help her, especially an older girl, and she wants to fill that role for the kids she coaches, especially the young girls.

But it’s not just on the field where Kensington gives so much of her time to help others.

With her dad, she also volunteers countless hours at the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society, cooking, cleaning, doing dishes and serving meals to help those less fortunate in our community.

“I love doing that,” she says, “because I get to meet and interact with so many people.”
