Community policing forum for South Okanagan-Similkameen residents

The forum will take place on April 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre

An upcoming community policing forum in Penticton will focus on current issues and trends faced by police in the South Okanagan and Similkameen.

“I would like to invite all residents of the regional district (which includes the following communities: Oliver, Osoyoos, Princeton, Keremeos, Summerland and Penticton) to a community policing forum to let us know what they want to see,” said Supt. Ted De Jager in a press release. “What do we need to do collectively to promote safety and wellness in our communities?”

The forum will take place on April 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

De Jager will have a short presentation followed by a panel discussion of the policing trends. He will answer questions that are submitted prior to the forum.The public is invited to submit their questions for discussion prior to April 10 at PolicingForum@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

Following the panel discussion, with time permitting, the public will be invited to the open mic to ask questions.
