Residents will have an opportunity to provide input on a proposed management strategy for public beach access in the electoral areas through an online survey and open houses hosted by the Comox Valley Regional District.

“Access to the beach is important to Comox Valley residents,” said Michael Nihls, manager of parks. “Residents use local beaches for walking, jogging, beachcombing, sunbathing, swimming, sand castle building, bird watching, fishing and boating to name but a few of the favorite beach activities.”

The open houses will focus on gaining input on the proposed management strategy and determining priorities for beach accesses that require signage or other improvements. The open houses will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. at the following locations:

•Wednesday, June 22 , Union Bay Community Club

•Thursday, June 23, Black Creek Community Hall

•Monday, June 27, CVRD Aquatic Centre

The survey is available at www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/beachaccess.
