As Blue Mountain gets busier, the Blue Mountain/Kanaka Creek Conservation Group get more concerned about the groundwater that’s supplying their kitchens and bathrooms.
It called on Maple Ridge council Monday to lobby the provincial government for a proper groundwater study of the Kanaka Creek/Whonnock aquifer and voiced its opposition to the parking lot staging areas for motorcyclists, recently approved by the government.
Parks and Leisure Services general manager Kelly Swift however pointed out that a hydrological study has already been done and said the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation wants to have a meeting of all mountain users in October.
