Conn pleads guilty

The man accused of setting fire to Grand Forks City Hall on Sept. 19, 2013 has pled guilty to arson.

The man accused of setting fire to Grand Forks City Hall on Sept. 19, 2013 has pled guilty to arson.

Conn is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 3 at Rossland Court.

Conn was originally scheduled for trial by judge on Sept. 15 but pleaded guilty instead.

The fire at City Hall caused extensive damage and was classified as arson. Conn was picked up on the scene by local RCMP and held as a ‘person of interest.’

City Hall had to be almost completely rebuilt at a cost of $1 million. The newly rebuilt City Hall is expected to be ready for the new council’s inaugural meeting on Dec. 1 of this year.
