Construction work will begin this spring at the site of the Unisus International School in Summerland.
The school, which will offer the International Baccalaureate program, will open its doors in September.
Construction on the dormitory building will begin in early April.
“As soon as the ground is free and clear, they will begin,” said Mary Taylor, a previous shareholder of the Glenfir School, the former owner of the property.
The work is expected to continue through the summer and into the fall.
“Even when the students are at school, there will be ongoing work happening,” Taylor said.
Because of the construction work, the school property will be closed to hikers and others who had been accessing it in the past.
The property, on Pierre Drive, was the site of The Glenfir School. The school building was constructed in 1996 and expanded in 2006. It has been closed since the spring of 2011.
