A man who served a two-year prison sentence for robbing two banks in Abbotsford in 2010 has been sentenced for other offences in the city.

Richard Wayne Heino, 23, pleaded guilty last week in Abbotsford provincial court to one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and another count for under $5,000.

He received a total of 11 months in jail.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the charges relate to Heino being caught in a stolen 2008 Jeep Wrangler in January, as well as the theft of several items, including a flat-screen TV.

MacDonald said there were a number of vehicle break-ins that occurred in underground parking lots in the 32700 and 32800 block of George Ferguson Way in January.

Heino is also before the courts for robbery, unlawful confinement and using an imitation firearm in West Vancouver on Oct. 28, 2012.

Heino held up two banks in Abbotsford in May 2010, and police released his photo and issued a public appeal to find him after he was viewed in surveillance video.

He was arrested the following month in Chilliwack, and pleaded guilty in December of that year.

Last May, he was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant after he allegedly took off from a halfway house in Kamloops.

At the time, police said Heino is known to carry concealed weapons and might be using drugs.

His criminal record includes prior convictions for possession of stolen property, mischief and fleeing from police.
