The weapon allegedly used by the suspect in an armed robbery of the Orchard Plaza Royal Bank has been recovered, along with the stolen cash.
The Kelowna RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at the Orchard Plaza Royal Bank, 1840 Cooper Road, Aug. 21 at 4:15 p.m.
“According to witnesses, the suspect produced what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. The man fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash,” said Const. Kris Clark.
“Thanks to the help of a couple witnesses, police were able to quickly track down the suspect, make the arrest and recover both the weapon and the stolen money.”
Brian Christie Miranada appeared in court Wednesday and was remanded. He is scheduled to appear again Thursday.
