Keith Green has been in some hot spots as Vernon’s fire chief, but he will really be feeling the heat Friday.
Green will be among the celebrities behind bars during the Cops for Kids’ Jail and Bail fundraiser Friday at Boston Pizza.
“We actually haven’t got charges together but we will come up with some good ones,” said Supt. Reg Burgess, of the RCMP, as he placed Green in handcuffs to promote the event.
Green and anyone else in the temporary slammer will be released once they have raised bail by calling their friends, relatives and acquaintances.
For some workers, this may be a fun opportunity to get even with the boss.
“If you have suggestions, we have a pick-up team (for arrests),” said Burgess, who is Cops for Kids vice-president.
“We still need more jail birds to help reach our fundraising goal.”

Money raised from the event will help Cops for Kids fund medical equipment, therapy and learning and mobility aids for local children.
Last year, 138 children were helped in the RCMP’s southeast district.
“We like to keep the funds coming in because there is an ongoing need,” said Burgess.
Jail and Bail will run all day Friday at Boston Pizza on 32nd Street.
“This is a fun way for us to raise money to help kids with items that aren’t covered by government or other agencies,” said Sean Matile, local Boston Pizza owner.
Also involved in the fundraiser are members of the Armstrong Kin Club.
