Cops for Kids cyclists and their road crew stopped by the Royal Canadian Legion in Castlegar for breakfast before heading off to Nelson for the next leg of the trip.
The Cops for Kids riders are on day four of the 10 day trip which concludes in Kelowna on Sept. 16.
Riders include Castlegar RCMP Cpl. Rob Gardner, Castlegar resident Wally Bursey of the Creston detachment, and Dirk Finkensiep, who was part of the Castlegar RCMP detachment for a number of years before transferring to Fort St. John.
After breakfast, Cpl. Gardner presented both Ernie Hansell, of Fruitvale, and Cody Archambeault, of Winlaw, with Cops of Kids t-shirts. Early in the year, Hansell received a Rifton Pacer scooter to help him get around, while Archambeault was given a recumbent arm bike from Cops for Kids.
