The BC Coroners Service is continuing to investigate the death of an inmate at Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre and may ultimately order an inquest.

Dylan Levi Judd, 20, was found dead in his unit on Nov. 10 by correctional officers performed morning checks.

BC Coroners Service spokeswoman Barbara McLintock said a decision will be made at the conclusion of the investigation whether to call a public inquest, commonly done when inmates die of something other than natural causes.

The office would not release the cause of Judd’s death. The Ontario man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Judd was facing charges out of Sicamous of being unlawfully in dwelling house and possession of stolen property. He was awaiting completion of his bail hearing while in custody.
