We were mistakenly vague in the-week-before-last week’s paper (“Local art instructor donates close to $3,000 to BC Children’s Hospital”). The $2,906 cheque presented to the BC Children’s Hospital, while presented by Shanna Hamilton, was a result of the collective efforts from SEAPARC’s Festival of Trees. As Hamilton wrote in an email, the donated funds were “for Sooke’s annual donations to the BC Children’s Hospital”; Elizabeth Olsen of SEAPARC articulated that the funds were collected from all the generous people of Sooke who donated at the Festival of Trees.
