A cougar in East Sooke may be responsible for the disappearance of some neighbourhood pets.

East Sooke resident Bonnie Coulter had to apologize to her neighbours last Tuesday  as her dog Jackson raised a ruckus at 5:30 a.m. and would not stop barking and growling.

She was more than a little surprised when she saw what he had up the tree in front their house.

The cougar is a suspect in a number of missing neighbourhood pets.  Her cat has not showed up yet.
