Council helps local soup program

District politicians dip into emergency fund to help cover costs

District of 100 Mile House council dipped into its emergency fund to grant $1,500 to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to help cover kitchen and freezer storage access costs at The Lodge.

Councillors acted quickly when they heard money earmarked for food in CMHA’s local soup program is going toward paying the rent on the district-owned facility.
