Saanich council stamped its approval to move forward a series of developments which are now back in the application process.

Among the recent approvals is a first reading of the 14-unit townhouse development spread across 1032, 1042 and 1052 Cloverdale Ave., just west of the designated Four Corners village centre of Cook and Quadra. The lots are currently zoned single residential.

Council had approved the development despite a vocal response from neighbours. The public hearing is Tuesday, Jan. 24, 7 p.m. at Saanich council chambers.

A rezoning of 986 and 990 Doumac Ave. was also moved forward, as it seeks to change from single family to apartment-village centre for the proposed construction of a four-storey, 25-unit (strata-titled) project with underground parking.

Approval was given for 814 Mann Ave., to permit the conversion of single dwelling home to a duplex. One final reading was on the agenda, to rezone 4079 Braefoot Rd. and approve a development variance permit. A portion of the property is being rezoned from Zone A-1 (rural) to Zone RS-12 (single family dwelling) for the proposed eight-lot subdivision.
