All city council meetings in Penticton for the rest of 2021, will continue to be held at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre (PTCT).
This decisions was made to keep in-person meetings taking place safely during the pandemic.
There will be six regular council and a couple budget meetings this year.
The cost to the city is $5,000 per meeting which includes set up and take down of visual and technical equipment.
That is around $35,000 to host the meetings at the PTCC instead of city hall council chambers.
But the COVID-19 relief funds are being used to pay it, said the city in a statement.
The public can still watch council meetings via a couple electronic opportunities on the city website, via Zoom or phone are available for delegations and public question period. Visit www.penticton.ca for more information.
