Two pedestrians are in hospital with serious injuries after a suspected hit-and-run last night.

The woman, aged 44, and her husband, 46, were hit from behind while out walking their dog in the 1600 block of Verdure Road.

Both suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and were taken to hospital by paramedics.

The driver of a damaged blue Saturn reported the crash and was on scene when police arrived, but their involvement is yet to be determined. Police believe that another vehicle may be outstanding.

No description is available for the suspect vehicle and police continue to search for witnesses.

The blue Saturn was seized by police so that further testing can be conducted in order to determine any connection to this collision. The investigation is ongoing.
