A woman who fled from police while driving a stolen truck has been sentenced to time served.

Christine Shirley Webb, born in 1988, was placed on 18 months probation and ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge after pleading guilty in provincial court to one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.

Webb was arrested in early January after an RCMP officer, patrolling 30th Avenue at 3 a.m., noticed a white truck travelling at a high rate of speed.

The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over but it fled. The officer did not pursue the vehicle.

The driver jumped from the still-moving vehicle and tried, unsuccessfully, to flee on foot.

The truck had been reported stolen out of North Battleford, Sask. in December.
