Sooke district has agreed to remove two covenants off 6978 West Coast Road property, initially requiring the applicant to build an Agricultural Land Reserve buffer.
The covenants in question required a buffer of thick vegetation and a 6-foot tall fence to be built on top of a berm in order to separate Sooke properties.
Due to lack of consistency however, both covenants were removed, and Sooke mayor and council concluded that the applicant is responsible to include their own buffers, albeit within zoning parameters.
