COVID-19: Another exposure reported at Parksville’s Ballenas Secondary

Public health staff are completing contact tracing

The Qualicum School District has reported another COVID-19 exposure at Ballenas Secondary School.

The potential exposure date was April 6. A general notification was issued to parents, guardians and students on Friday (April 9).

Public health staff are completing contact tracing to identify any individuals that may need to self-isolate and self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.

For privacy reasons, the school district is unable to provide further details.

Students, teachers and staff are advised to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.

There was also an individual at the school reported exposed to COVID-19, with potential exposure dates of March 31 and April 1.
