COVID-19 notices trickling in for Chilliwack schools over winter break

New exposure notices include daycares within two elementary schools

Schools have been closed since Dec. 18, but COVID-19 notices keep trickling through the system.

At least two daycares located in Chilliwack schools have sent out exposure notices over the winter break. On Dec. 21, the Little Valley 123 Childcare Centre within East Chilliwack elementary sent out a notice of exposure for Dec. 17. Staff and students are to be self monitoring for symptoms for 14 days from that event.

On Dec. 24, Puddle Jumpers Daycare located in Yarrow elementary notified families of a potential exposure Dec. 14, 15 and 16. The children at this daycare were asked to self-isolate while parents watch for symptoms.

Rosedale Traditional school also has a new active notice, with exposure dates Dec. 14 through Dec. 18, the entire last week of school before the break.

Also added over the holidays was a specific bus route. Route 19 was affected Dec. 14, 15 and 16.

Days have also been added for John Calvin school in Yarrow. While the school notes it was closed as of Dec. 16, the exposure dates now include Dec. 16, 17 and 18.

Other Chilliwack area schools with active notices include AD Rundle, Chilliwack middle, Chilliwack secondary, East Chilliwack elementary, Sardis elementary, Sardis secondary and Unity Christian.
