A second COVID-19 outbreak has been declared on the Menno Place campus in Abbotsford where Menno Home currently has 38 cases and two deaths.
Terrace East, an assisted-living facility, has had three residents test positive for the virus as of Tuesday (Sept. 14), according to the Menno Place website.
The residents who tested positive are currently in self-isolation at their homes, according to Fraser Health.
The agency said it is working with the site to identify anyone else who might have been exposed and to implement enhanced control measures.
The Menno Place website states that, during the outbreak, there will be no outings for residents of Terrace East and no visitors.

Menno Place, operated by the Mennonite Benevolent Society, has six buildings on 11 acres bordered by Marshall Road, Primrose Street and Brundige Avenue.
An outbreak at Menno Home – a long-term care facility on the Menno Place campus – was announced by Fraser Health on Sept. 2. As of Sept. 14, that outbreak was up to 22 residents and 16 staff.
Of the two deaths, one was in palliative care at the time.
The website states that 10 staff have since recovered and are back at work.
It has not been reported how the cases break down between vaccinated and unvaccinated people.
But the website previously stated that this outbreak has resulted in “relatively mild” symptoms for vaccinated staff and residents who tested positive, compared to the previous one that began in November 2020 before the vaccine rollout.
By the time the outbreak was declared over at the end of January, there had been a total of 67 cases (42 residents and 25 staff) and 13 deaths.
This was Abbotsford’s second largest outbreak after Tabor Home, which had 156 cases (93 residents and 63 staff) and 26 deaths.
