Difficulties in acquiring steel to build the new Craigflower Bridge has forced Saanich and View Royal to push the scheduled completion back four months.
Originally set to be complete in by Dec. 1, Jim Hemstock, Saanich’s manager of capital projects, says March 2014 is the new timeline.
“We might be able to improve it, but we still have quite a ways to go. One of the concerns we have now is we’ll be doing a lot of this work during the winter,” he said.
