July 27

1:31 a.m. Police received a report of a domestic dispute.

11:15 a.m. Report of an assault.

11:19 a.m. Crown Council from Alberta requested Cranbrook RCMP to subpoena a witness.

1:08 p.m. A suspicious vehicle was reported on the 800 block of Industrial Road 3.

2:18 p.m. Report of internal theft at a local business.

3:19 p.m. A caller reported that groceries had been stolen from a local grocery store.

4:14 p.m. Report of fraud.

5:13 p.m. Report of vandalism to a residence in the 1500 block of 5th Street South.

10:07 p.m. A caller reported a disturbance in the Jimsmith Lake area.

July 28

1:34 a.m. An officer on patrol issued a 90 day immediate roadside prohibition and 30 day impound to a driver who was pulled over and failed a roadside screening test.

2:20 a.m. An officer on patrol pulled over a new driver, who was found to have alcohol in his system. That resulted in a 12 hour suspension.

8:23 a.m. Report of  theft of jewelry from a residence on Lakeview Drive.

9:37 a.m. Report of a domestic dispute.

10:11 a.m. Neighbours were reported having a dispute in the Garbutts Lake area.

10:47 a.m. A caller reported a case of vandalism, when they found a dumpster fire outside a home under construction.

12:48 p.m. Report of an assault.

3:27 p.m. A hydraulic pump jack was reported stolen from the 600 block of 21st Avenue North.

4:34 p.m. Police were requested to keep the peace while a person picked up belongings from a former residence.

4:53 p.m. Police received a report of a shoplifter at a local grocery store.

5:08 p.m. A driver hit a deer near Bull River. Police were requested to dispatch it.

7:39 p.m. An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle, and the driver failed a roadside screening resulting in a 90 day immediate roadside prohibition and 30 day vehicle impound.

July 29

12:54 a.m. A loud party was reported on the 1400 block of 16th Street South.

7:21 a.m. A purse and ID was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 400 block of 20th Avenue South.

9:05 a.m. Police received a report of a lost licence plate decal.

10:03 a.m. Prescription sunglasses were reported stolen from a residence on the 1300 block of 19th Street South.

10:37 a.m. An individual was reported to be attempting to steal bottles from a residence on the 1200 block of 3rd Street NW.

11:35 a.m. Report of a bicycle being stolen from a local pawnbroker.

12:10 p.m. A dog was reported to be locked in a hot vehicle outside a local department store.

6:08 p.m. A caller reported they were being harassed via text message.

8:15 p.m. Police were requested to check the wellbeing of a person on the 1700 block of 2nd Street North, as the person appeared to be confused.  Police located the individual, who had left the hospital against the doctor’s orders. The person agreed to go back to the hospital for further examination.

10:09 p.m. A vehicle was reported stolen from Rotary Drive. Minutes after the call, police located the vehicle on the 200 block of 10th Avenue South. It was unattended.

10:50 a.m. BC Ambulance requested assistance in dealing with a difficult patient.

July 30

12:43 a.m. Report of an assault at a local liquor establishment.

10:01 a.m. Report of a domestic dispute.

11:00 a.m. A licence plate was reported stolen.

12:59 p.m. A wallet was found in a ditch on Twin Lakes Road.

1:48 p.m. A case of fraud was reported.

2:34 p.m. Police were requested to remove an unwanted guest from a local motel.

3:55 p.m. Theft from a local business was reported.

4:26 p.m. Report of a two vehicle accident on the 700 block of 11th Street South. There were no injuries.

5:39 p.m. Report of an internal theft from a local motel. A substantial amount of cash was taken.

6:25 p.m. Report of a landlord-tenant dispute.

10:16 p.m. A bicycle was reported stolen from the 1800 block of 4th Street North. It was a black and green mountain bike.

July 31

12:07 a.m. A family disturbance was reported on Estates Road.

3:43 a.m. An officer on patrol encountered an intoxicated individual. The person was taken into custody and put in a cell until sober.

11:09 a.m. A caller reported that they had seen an individual leave a suspicious package near a garbage can at Rotary Park. Police attended the location and located the individual, as well as the package. It turned out to be a bag of garbage that needed to be thrown out.

11:43 a.m. Report of a suspicious man near the hospital. Police attended and spoke to the man, who was then taken to the psychiatric unit.

12:16 p.m. Police received a report of an attempted theft of a vehicle from a local tow truck yard.

12:43 p.m. An officer on patrol came across an intoxicated woman outside a local liquor establishment. She was arrested and lodged in a cell until sober.

12:56 p.m. A Suzuki 125 dirt bike was reported stolen from a property on Maus Creek Road.

1:22 p.m. Police were requested to attend the psychiatric unit at the hospital unit at the hospital to help deal with a violent patient.

3:00 p.m. Report of an ongoing problem of speeding vehicles on the Mission-Wycliff Road.

3:09 p.m. A cellphone was reported stolen from a local department store.

3:20 p.m. Report of a neighbourhood dispute.

5:29 p.m. Residents reported an ongoing problem with a loud vehicle in the 1000 block of 22nd Avenue North.

6:12 p.m. An officer on patrol noted an intoxicated individual passed out on the grass on the 1200 block of 23A Avenue North in the hot sun. The man was taken into custody and lodged in a cell until sober.

6:54 p.m. Report of a disturbance in the 1200 block of Cranbrook Street North.

11:45 p.m. Report of a suicidal man. Police attended, located the man and after speaking to the man he returned home. Police found there was no need for further involvement.

Aug. 1

12:38 a.m. Report of two suspicious males downtown. Police could not locate them.

1:06 a.m. Report of a domestic dispute.

1:18 a.m. A noisy party was reported near Horseshoe Lake.

1:42 a.m. A loud party was reported in the 900 block of 8th Avenue South.

2:46 a.m. Police located a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of 15th Avenue S. The driver was determined to have consumed alcohol and was issued a 24 hour driving prohibition due to being a new driver.

8:40 a.m. A suspicious vehicle was reported near the Owl’s Nest Resort near Moyie.

9:54 a.m. Report of a domestic dispute.

10:04 a.m. A shoplifter was reported at a local department store.

11:05 a.m. Report of an assault.

12:26 p.m. Police received a report of a person passed out on the sidewalk near a liquor establishment. When police arrived, the person had woken up and walked away, and was not found.

2:24 p.m. Report of a logging with an unsecured load along the Highway  3 near Rosiky Road.

2:50 p.m. Report of a suicidal person. Police attended and spoke with the individual. The person was then brought to hospital under the Mental Health Act.

3:39 p.m. A dog was reported to be locked in a hot vehicle at a local grocery store.

5:43 p.m. Report of an erratic driver. The vehicle was a late 90s Jeep with Ontario plates, which was causing other drivers to swerve to avoid it.

6:42 p.m. A TV was reported stolen from a local department store.

7:27 p.m. A caller reported that horses were near some railway tracks on Bateman Road.

7:29 p.m. Some bikers were lost in the Jimsmith Lake area. Police searched with the help of the police dog handler and located the bikers, who were safe.

9:10 p.m. Report of a suspicious person in the 300 block of 33rd Avenue South.

9:25 p.m. A large party was reported in the Horseshoe Lake Area.

Aug. 2

2:08 a.m. Report of threats.

2:15 a.m. Report of an intoxicated man on the 200 block of Victoria Avenue South.

2:47 a.m. A disturbance was reported downtown.

5:43 a.m. A suspicious person was reported on the 500 block of 9th Street South.

7:28 a.m. Tools were reported stolen from the City Works yard.

8:53 a.m. A single vehicle accident occurred near Jaffray. No injuries were reported.

11:45 a.m. Loud music was reported on 14th Avenue.

12:33 p.m. A family dispute was reported.

1:53 p.m. A white Volkswagen with BC plates was reported for erratic driven near Steamboat Hill. The vehicle was driving all over the road.

2:42 p.m. Report of a motorhome driving under a canopy and causing damage.

2:43 p.m. A transport truck on 7th Avenue and Van Horne Street was reported for passing unsafely and tailgating.

3:40 p.m. A residence on Crossroads was reported for having an illegal campfire, due to the ban.

6:10 p.m. Report of a mountain bike stolen from the 1700 block of 2nd Street North.

8:35 p.m. Report of a domestic dispute.

11:53 p.m. A vehicle broke down on Highway three 20 kilometres south of Cranbrook and was reported as a potential traffic hazard.
