Crash on Cedar Road detours traffic

Ford Taurus and GMC Sierra involved in collision in front of Cedar General Store

Traffic was detoured this afternoon in Cedar after a car and a truck collided.

North Cedar Fire Department, Nanaimo RCMP and B.C. Ambulance Service were on scene after the accident happened on Cedar Road at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. A Ford Taurus and a GMC Sierra were involved in the crash, which happened in front of Cedar General Store.

Firefighters on scene said the vehicle occupants were checked over by B.C. Ambulance and no one was hurt in the accident.

A witness said the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions and the car was turning toward the store when the collision occurred.

Traffic heading southeast was detoured while crews cleared the scene.
