“Create your Canada” contest returns to Cowichan

MP challenges Grade 11, 12 students in the Cowichan-Malahat-Langford riding

Last year Chemainus Secondary Grade 12 students Morgan Bottomley and Hannah Pachet won MP Alistair MacGregor’s “Create Your Canada” contest and this year it could be you! That is, if you’re a Grade 11 or 12 student in the Cowichan-Malahat-Langford constituency.

The contest gives senior students in the riding the chance let the country’s decision-makers know what needs to be done to make Canada a better place.

The winning student(s) will earn a trip to Ottawa to watch MacGregor present their idea to the House of Commons as a Private Member’s Bill.

“I am very excited to give students in my riding the opportunity to learn about and participate in the legislative process firsthand,” MacGregor said. “The young people of this country are our future, and I want to encourage them to get involved and think about how we can create a better Canada.”

The deadline for submissions to the “Create your Canada” contest is March 31.

More information, including submission forms, is available online at: https://alistairmacgregor.ndp.ca/news/create-your-canada-contest. Students may enter individually or in groups of two.
