Creepy clowns won’t be allowed at Lake City Secondary School this Halloween, principal Gregg Gaylord said.
“We have asked the kids, mostly at the younger Columneetza campus not to wear the creepy clown outfits,” Gaylord told the Tribune/Weekend Advisor Thursday. “It shocked a lot of people when it happened a few weeks ago in Prince George.”
The fad of dressing as creepy clowns with the intent to cause fear is a fad all across North America, Gaylord added.
“So we decided, to keep people at ease, we as the administration at Columneetza went into all the classes and explained to the students because of what’s happened it would be better off not to wear clown outfits this year.”
Information is better than having people upset was the aim, he added.
A Halloween dance is planned for the school on Friday night and Gaylord said the students know they may be sent away if they show up with clown costumes.
“They are forewarned and educated and hopefully respectful, as I would assume they will be.”
