The Creston RCMP and Southeast District major crime unit are investigating a suspicious death after a body was discovered in a residence on the Lower Kootenay Band near Creston.
At 3:14 p.m. May 31, Creston RCMP received a report of a sudden death, and located the body of a deceased 26-year-old male in a residence.
“The death of this male is suspicious in nature and is currently being treated as a homicide,” said the RCMP in a press release. “The investigation is in the preliminary stages and no further information will be released in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.”
The deceased’s identity is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
