Christmas decorations stolen
A theft of multiple Christmas decorations has Penticton police looking for a Grinch, or possibly Grinches.
On Dec. 24, a resident on Estates Place had a theft occur overnight of a red and green Christmas-themed projection lamp.
Another light projector was later stolen from Argyle Street.
Police continue to investigate the matter.
Break-in
Sometime between 1 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 26 a break and enter took place at Westview Place.
The back door of a residence was pried open. Cash, jewellery and a Garmin GPS were taken. One of the jewellery boxes taken had “Merry Christmas Bobby 1991” on it, and another read “Hazel on your retirement.”
Christmas eve car fire
Police suspect a car fire on Forestbrook Drive was intentionally set at 5 a.m. on Dec. 24 and it was a targeted incident.
RCMP said the occupants of the nearby residence were extremely uncooperative. The matter is still under investigation.
Shed fire in Naramata
A fire destroyed a shed along with heirlooms and antiques stored inside during the early morning fire on Three Mile Road in Naramata.
Police said the fire was possible caused by a space heater and heat lamp inside.
Construction sites hit by thefts
A building site on Pineview Road had the lock cut off of a storage container and thousands of dollars of equipment stolen.
The building company told police it was the third break-in on three different job sites.
Vehicle theft
A 2003 Volkswagen Golf VE071V was stolen sometime between 5 p.m. Dec. 20 and noon Dec. 21 from a property on Lakehill Rd.
The vehicle is black, white and red with a Custom Bilt Tattoo sticker on the back window.
