A 38-year-old cyclist has died from injuries sustained during an accident in Vernon.
The incident between a bicycle and a pickup truck occurred in the 3400 block of 25th Avenue just after 6 a.m. July 2 and the woman cyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“She has died as a result of her injuries,” said Gord Molendyk, with the RCMP, adding that the death occurred July 3.
Police say the woman came into the truck’s lane of traffic and a collision could not be avoided. She was not wearing a helmet.
“The investigation has been turned over to the coroner,” said Molendyk.
The name of the victim has not been released.
