SURREY — Police are wanting to talk to witnesses after a cyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV Thursday night.
Police say the man was riding his bike in the area of 108th Avenue and 142nd Street when he was hit by a Ford Escape SUV at about 10:10 p.m.
The man was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Police say the driver of the SUV, a Surrey resident, is co-operating with investigators and that drugs or alcohol are not suspected as factors in the collision.
As of Friday morning, police were still working to identify the cyclist.
Police are asking anyone that may have seen the collision – or may have seen the cyclist or SUV prior to the collision – to call 604-599-0502.
